Katarina Korolkevich-Rubbo is Mike Rubbos wife. They met in Russia when he was screening his film at the Moscow film festival. Now their life is in Australia and Katya divides her time between working as an interpreter for Russians who live on the Central Coast, and making art. She has made some wonderful icons, harking back to her rich Russian heritage and also her connections to the Russian Orthodox Church. Katya is also one of the few modern artists who has perfected her style in Lubok, a traditional Russian folkloric art.

She also loves making images of nature some of which are very impressionistic and free-flowing, but more recently she has become a qualified botanical artist. Katya enjoys the challenge of portraying plants with great accuracy after very careful observation.
